No Longer a Democrat!

I was raised in a family of Democrats. My mother, father, grandparents and ancestors all the way back were Democrats. When I was finally old enough to vote, I proudly voted for JFK and hated Nixon as a "creep". I would have voted for Bobby Kennedy for anything, if he hadn't been assassinated by Sirhan Sirhan.

But as I've gotten older, I've tried very hard to hold on to my ideals. The Democratic Party that I grew up so fiercely proud of has not done the same. I can't even begin to justify aligning myself with a group that staunchly defends and promotes positions that I know in my heart are wrong.

When the Democratic Party became the proponents for abortion, they lost my vote.

I don't like everything that I see happening in the Republican Party, and I know that there are crooks and opportunists on both sides, but I have to draw the line somewhere, and the murder of innocent unborn babies is where I draw the line.

ProChoice! BAH! What a misnomer! How did the choice to murder ever become a part of our laws? Oh, you say that fetuses are not real humans until they are born, so they have no rights!
But WHAT IF YOU ARE WRONG?!?

And, what about that horrific procedure defended by Democratic politicos - partial birth abortion? Since the baby/fetus is allowed to be partially-born before being killed, doesn't that baby/fetus have at least a 'partial' right to life? Or is it acceptable to drive a needle into his brain to kill him? And why would he need to be killed if he was never alive in the first place?

We are told in our scriptures that "the shedding of innocent blood" is an unforgiveable sin. I can't think of any blood more innocent than that of an unborn baby. Is that why so many secularists are fighting to ban scriptures? So we don't have these 'unpleasant' reminders?

How can anyone who claims to be a Christian support abortion? I don't understand it.

And I truly don't understand how anyone claiming to be a Christian evangelist and church leader can endorse any candidate, whether Democrat or Republican, who supports abortion.

I've been reading news stories about Christian leaders who are coming together in groups, or individually, to endorse candidates who are proven to support, and vote for, these ghastly procedures. WHY?

One says "There are more important issues then abortion" and another says "We'll get better healthcare". Try telling aborted fetuses how much better your healthcare and other benefits are.

This is what the world is coming to, but I don't have to be a party to it.
