Barack Obama is the first African-American candidate to win a caucus. And Mike Huckabee brought evangelicals out en masse to spring a surprising victory on the Republican side.

Both Hillary Clinton and Mitt Romney got unpleasant surprises handed to them, for lots of reasons, but primarily because of negative campaigning.

Now, the candidates are in New Hampshire and frantically working to get the win in the first real primary. Barack Obama needs to maintain his momentum in a state that has a well-established Clinton base. John Edwards needs to make a respectable showing to keep his campaign alive and Hillary Clinton needs the win here, to avoid being seen as un-electable.

On the Republican side, Mitt Romney faces a major challenge from John McCain and Huckabee isn't even bothering to campaign in New Hampshire, choosing to concentrate on South Carolina where he has a strong support group of evangelicals. Word has it that Romney has a big negative campaign in place to blast McCain. I personally don't think that is wise. Hopefully, his group will learn a lesson from the backlash in Iowa against negative campaigning.

Personally, I prefer a candidate to tell about his/her own strengths rather than the weaknesses of his/her opponent.

New Hampshire should give us a better idea of what happens when secret ballot voting is a part of the picture.

Peace and Love for 2008!

Another Book to Worry the ACLU

I thought I'd share a Press Release for another book the ACLU is not gonna be happy about. What do you think?

Christianity and the American Commonwealth

"Originally published in 1898, Christianity and the American Commonwealth is one of the best summaries of the impact of Christianity on America. Author Charles B. Galloway leaves no historical fact unturned in his demonstration that America was founded as a Christian nation. Furthermore, he proves that without the Gospel and the application of all of God's Word to all of life, civilizations turn despotic and crumble. In a day when Christian leaders call for the abandonment of politics, Galloway's book is a breath of fresh air. In many ways this book was prophetic. He saw what would happen if America rejected her Biblical foundations or if Christians retreated from their engagement in society. Although written more than 100 years ago, Galloway's arguments are persuasively modern and must be heeded by today's church. There's no doubt that the ACLU will be terrified when this book gets back into circulation! Over one hundred images have been added in this newly republished version."

Christianity and the American Commonwealth retails for $13.95, and is available through NewsMax.com online.

Funny that this book, and others of it's type, were written without fear of harassment. Remember, this was long before the ACLU was formed.

Just something to think about.

Have a Joyous Christmas!

Wise men

seek Him

still!

The Birthday Party!

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_SlVpDLkHURg/R2-84fAvpxI/AAAAAAAAAA4/-KpF3cambiI/s200/savior.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5147540577691084562" />
Dear Loved Ones,

As you well know, we are getting closer to my birthday. Every year there is a celebration in my honor and I think that this year the celebration will be repeated. During this time there are many people shopping for gifts, there are many radio announcements, TV commercials, and in every part of the world everyone is talking that my birthday is getting closer and closer.

It is really very nice to know, that at least once a year, some people think of me. As you know, the celebration of my birthday began many years ago. At first people seemed to understand and be thankful of all that I did for them, but in these times, no one seems to know the reason for the celebration. Family and friends get together and have a lot of fun, but they don't know the meaning of the celebration.

I remember that last year there was a great feast in my honor. The dinner table was full of delicious foods, pastries, fruits, assorted nuts and chocolates. The decorations were exquisite and there were many, many beautifully wrapped gifts. But, do you want to know something? I wasn't invited. I was the guest of honor and they didn't remember to send me an invitation. The party was for me, but when that great day came, I was left outside, they closed the door in my face .... and I wanted to be with them and share their table.

In truth, that didn't surprise me because in the last few years all close their doors to me. Since I wasn't invited, I decided to enter the party without making any noise. I went in and stood in a corner. They were all drinking; there were some who were drunk and telling jokes and laughing at everything. They were having a grand time. To top it all, this big fat man all dressed in red wearing a long white beard entered the room yelling Ho-Ho-Ho! He seemed drunk. He sat on the sofa and all the children ran to him, saying: "Santa Claus, Santa Claus" .. as if the party were in his honor!

At 12 Midnight all the people began to hug each other; I extended my arms waiting for someone to hug me and ... do you know ... no one hugged me.

Suddenly they all began to share gifts. They opened them one by one with great expectation. When all had been opened, I looked to see if, maybe, there was one for me.

What would you feel if on your birthday everybody shared gifts and you did not get one? I then understood that I was unwanted at that party and quietly left.

Every year it gets worse. People only remember to eat and drink, the gifts, the parties and nobody remembers me. I would like this Christmas that you allow me to enter into your life. I would like that you recognize the fact that almost two thousand years ago I came to this world to give my life for you, on the cross, to save you. Today, I only want that you believe this with all your heart.

I want to share something with you. As many didn't invite me to their party, I will have my own celebration, a grandiose party that no one has ever imagined, a spectacular party.

I'm still making the final arrangements. Today I am sending out many invitations and there is an invitation for you. I want to know if you wish to attend and I will make a reservation for you and write your name with golden letters in my great guest book. Only those on the guest list will be invited to the party. Those who don't answer the invite, will be left outside.

Be prepared because when all is ready you will be part of my great party.

See you soon.

I Love you!
Jesus

P.S. Please share this message with your loved ones, before Christmas.

Have a Happy Sunday!

Have a Wonderful Day!

Christmas Spirit?

You may have noticed that all the candidates are promoting "feel good" Christmas messages, that is, except Hillary Clinton. She is concentrating on attacking her Democratic opponents. Surprise! Surprise!

It is important for us to remember that ALL of the candidates are human beings, just like you and me. They have their good points and their bad points and NONE of them are perfect.

But what we need to concentrate on, as Christians (conservative or otherwise), is what positions they advocate.

The time is getting short before the first primaries. Now is the time for you to familiarize yourself with where each candidate stands on EACH ISSUE.

While you are preparing for holiday get-togethers, don't forget to inform yourself about the issues important to the election. When Uncle Harry starts advocating certain candidates at Christmas dinner, you want to have intelligent and informed answers for everyone.

Perhaps you can sway some family members to remember to vote for what they say they believe.

Animals are So Smart!

Paul Harvey and Prayer

Paul Harvey says:

I don't believe in Santa Claus, but I'm not going to sue somebody for singing a Ho-Ho-Ho song in December.

Life, liberty or your pursuit of happiness will not be endangered because someone says a 30-second prayer before a football game.

So what's the big deal? It's not like somebody is up there reading the entire book of Acts. They're just talking to a God they believe in and asking him to grant safety to the players on the field and the fans going home from the game.

But it's a Christian prayer, some will argue.

Yes, and this is the United States of America, a country founded on Christian principles. According to our very own phone book, Christian churches outnumber all others better than 200-to-1. So what would you expect -- somebody chanting Hare Krishna?

If I went to a football game in Jerusalem, I would expect to hear a Jewish prayer.

If I went to a soccer game in Baghdad, I would expect to hear a Muslim prayer.

If I went to a ping pong match in China, I would expect to hear someone pray to Buddha.

And I wouldn't be offended. It wouldn't bother me one bit. When in Rome. . .

But what about the atheists? Is another argument.

What about them?

Nobody is asking them to be baptized. We're not going to pass the collection plate. Just humor us for 30 seconds. If that's asking too much, bring a Walkman or a pair of ear plugs. Go to the bathroom. Visit the concession stand. Call your lawyer!

Unfortunately, one or two will make that call. One or two will tell thousands what they can and cannot do. I don't think a short prayer at a football game is going to shake the world's foundations.

Christians are just sick and tired of turning the other cheek while our courts strip us of all our rights. Our parents and grandparents taught us to pray before eating; to pray before we go to sleep.

Our Bible tells us to pray without ceasing. Now a handful of people and their lawyers are telling us to cease praying.

God, help us.

And if that last sentence offends you, well ..... just sue me.

The silent majority has been silent too long. It's time we let that one or two who scream loud enough to be heard that the vast majority doesn't care what they want. It is time the majority rules! It's time we tell them, you don't have to pray; you don't have to say the pledge of allegiance; you don't have to believe in God or attend services that honor Him. That is your right, and we will honor your right. But by golly, you are no longer going to take our rights away. We are fighting back.
and we WILL WIN!

God bless us one and all ... especially those who denounce Him, God bless America, despite all her faults. She is still the greatest nation of all.

God bless our service men who are fighting to protect our right to pray and worship God.

2007 will be the year the silent majority is heard and we put God back as the foundation of our families and institutions ...

Keep looking up.

"AND THAT'S THE REST OF THE STORY"

In God We Trust

A thought for the day!

Life of the Unborn Child

A dear friend sent me a post from her blog talking about how she is trying hard to understand the reasons why her child is so nervous all the time. She referred to several experiences she had that made her a "nervous wreck" while she was pregnant with her daughter. She also mentioned a book she is reading that is helping her to understand how she contributed to her daughter's nervousness and why she needs to help her daughter become calmer and more confident.

"The Secret Life of the Unborn Child" by Thomas Verny, MD with John Kelly is the book she is reading. The book apparently details how a fetus experiences emotions while in the womb. If what this book says is true (and I already knew this was the case), this just gives more scientific and medical ammunition against abortions.

This information can be utilized to help STOP abortions in the USA (over 48 MILLION murdered babies, so far). If those of us who are Pro-LIFE can help to get this information out to the world, perhaps some real change can be initiated. This is excellent ammunition against Roe vs. Wade.

If what this book says is true, how can any decent person allow abortions to continue?

Christian Life and Character

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_SlVpDLkHURg/R2aXVfAvpwI/AAAAAAAAAAw/eJ_QUemReng/s320/CLandC.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5144966019675039490" /> This book was originally written by Benjamin F. Morris in 1864. It has been out of print for almost 150 years.

Now it has been re-typeset and reprinted by American Vision, so it is available again to the American public.

The ads caught my eye because the headline reads,The Book the ACLU Does Not Want You to Read!

The publisher, Gary DeMer posts the following quote:

"I was debating an ACLU attorney at Christmas on an NPR station. I pulled out a Xerox copy of The Christian Life and Character of the Civil Institutions of the United States and said to her: "Until you answer this book, the ACLU can't make a case against America's Christian founding." She was shocked when she saw it. She asked where I had gotten it. The only thing that gave her relief was the fact that the book was not in print. But now it is.

"Be afraid ACLU. Be very afraid. Morris packs The Christian Life and Character with page after page of original source material making the case that America was founded as a Christian nation. The evidence is unanswerable and irrefutable. This 1000-page book will astound you and send enemies of Christianity into shock. Keep in mind that it was published in 1864 and has been out of print for more than a century. It has been newly typeset using a very readable font and added subheads. A new Foreword written by my long-time friend Dr. Archie Jones describes the background of the book and provides a brief biography of the author."

If you've been watching what is happening in our society today, you know that the ACLU has been trying to eliminate any reference to Christianity from public life. Something like prohibiting nativity scenes in public places makes the news and then disappears. But the ACLU has been continuously eroding Christian beliefs for years.

I have not read this book as yet, but I'm putting it on my Christmas Wish List and my Must Read list. At 1000 pages, it's bound to have some information that can be used to combat the secularization of our society that is ever-encroaching on our rights to believe as we wish without persecution.

The book retails for around $39 and comes with a DVD of the book text so you can search out topics and print out information.

The people who want to eliminate Christianity in the USA (including the ACLU) are well-financed and vocal. We need to stand up and fight back.

Perhaps this book can help us add ammunition in our fight!

Have a Happy Sabbath!

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_SlVpDLkHURg/R2Ulz_AvpvI/AAAAAAAAAAo/s7sH2RI6QH8/s320/12346.gif" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5144559724358772466" />

Have a glorious and restful Sunday!

The Primaries Are Getting Closer!

This time of year, the clock seems to move faster. There is so much to do and so much to finish.

Decorations must be completed. Presents must be purchased and wrapped. And family meals and get-togethers must be completely planned out and shopped-for.

This year, the clock is moving even faster, because as Christians, we have even more to do than usual.

Yes, I want my Nativity Set placed prominently in my yard (whether the ACLU likes it or not).

Yes, I want my "Jesus, the Reason for the Season" signs displayed prominently, so traffic coming from either direction can be reminded.

But I also need to spend precious time studying political issues, and where the different candidates stand on those issues, because the Presidential primaries are coming earlier next year than ever before.

As I spend time pondering the meaning behind the Christmas season (and I am not referring to Santa Claus or the Winter Solstice & Druidic pagan celebrations), I need to re-evaluate what is important to me as a professed Christian.

When those primaries are over, what will I know about the selected candidates from each party? Will I have had an impact on the process at all? Will I have kept myself informed and shared the information with others? And will I select a candidate just because of the political party they belong to, or because they represent my values?

Will I vote what I say I believe?

I simply had to share this!

CBS Morning News Subject: An eloquent comment
The following was written by Ben Stein and recited by him on
CBS Sunday Morning Commentary.

My confession:

I am a Jew, and every single one of my ancestors was Jewish. And it does not bother me even a little bit when people call those beautiful lit up, bejewelled trees Christmas trees. I don't feel threatened. I don't feel discriminated against. That's what they are: Christmas trees. It doesn't bother me a bit when people say, "Merry Christmas" to me. I don't think they are slighting me or getting ready to put me in a ghetto. In fact, I kind of like it. It shows that we are all brothers and sisters celebrating this happy time of year. It doesn't bother me at all that there is a manger scene on display at a key intersection near my beach house in Malibu. If people want a crèche, it's just as fine with me as is the Menorah a few hundred yards away.

I don't like getting pushed around for being a Jew, and I don't think Christians like getting pushed around for being Christians. I think people who believe in God are sick and tired of getting pushed around, period. I have no idea where the concept came from that America is an explicitly atheist country. I can't find it in the Constitution and I don't like it being shoved down my throat. Or maybe I can put it another way: where did the idea come from that we should worship Nick and Jessica and we aren't allowed to worship God as we understand Him? I guess that's a sign that I'm getting old, too. But there are a lot of us who are wondering where Nick and Jessica came from and where the America we knew went to.

In light of the many jokes we send to one another for a laugh, this is a little different: This is not intended to be a joke; it's not funny, it's intended to get you thinking.

Billy Graham's daughter was interviewed on the Early Show and Jane Clayson asked her "How could God let something like this happen?" (regarding Katrina). Anne Graham gave an extremely profound and insightful response. She said,

"I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we've been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives. And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out. How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone?"

In light of recent events... terrorists attack, school shootings, etc. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O'Hare (she was murdered, her body found recently) complained she didn't want prayer in our schools, and we said OK.

Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school. The Bible says thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbour as yourself. And we said OK.

Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't spank our children when they misbehave because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock's son committed suicide). We said an expert should know what he's talking about. And we said OK.

Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.

Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with "WE REAP WHAT WE SOW."

Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell.

Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says.

Funny how you can send jokes through e-mail and they spread like wildfire but when you start sending messages regarding God, people think twice about sharing.

Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace.

Are you laughing?

Funny how when you forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you for sending it.

Funny how we can be more worried about what other people think of us than what God thinks of us.

Pass it on if you think it has merit. If not then just discard it... no one will know you did. But, if you discard this thought process, don't sit back and complain about what bad shape the world is in.

My Best Regards.

Honestly and respectfully,
Ben Stein

Conservative Voter - How Do You Feel About . . .

GUN CONTROL?

Do you think citizens should be allowed to own guns, or do you think that only certain people should be allowed to have weapons of any sort?

Do you think the federal government should issue and track ID cards for any citizen who owns a gun?

Or do you think that if gun control is implemented, only criminals will have guns?

You probably already have decided where you stand on this issue. In fact, what if this doctor told you there was nothing to worry about? There was nothing wrong with you? That all your worries and suspicions were groundless? What if he told you exactly the opposite of what he knew was true?

How would you feel if you found out that your doctor was using you as a guinea pig to test out a potentially fatal drug just so he could make money? or get an important position in the research community? or get some other benefit for himself, at your expense?

Wouldn't you, or your survivors, be outraged?! Wouldn't you, or your survivors, sue that doctor for malpractice for every penny possible? Wouldn't you think he was WRONG to do any of these things?

We count on doctors to honor their Hippocratic oath; to say and do those things that are in our best interests physically, to the maximum extent of their knowledge and training. When they act otherwise, we expect to hold them accountable.

Well, let me ask you one more question:

How can a man of God, a minister who is supposedly trained and knowledgeable in spiritual matters, NOT be held accountable if he misdirects and misguides his followers on those spiritual matters?

I am referring specifically to those self-proclaimed "evangelists" who are urging their congregations to support a presidential candidate who supports abortion.

Pat Robertson, a former presidential candidate himself, has come out in support of Rudy Guiliani for president. Mr. Guiliani has openly and vehemently supported, not only legalized abortion, but same sex marriage and other practices that are called "abhorent to God" in the Bible that Mr. Robertson claims to believe. Or, at least, that he touts on his nationwide religious program "The 700 Club".

When challenged on his support of Gulliani and his pro-abortion stance, Pat Robertson responded, "There are things that are more important than the abortion issue." It doesn't surprise me that Mr. Robertson will say whatever is convenient to his desired goals. When it appeared that being an evangelist was going to be a detriment in his presidential campaign, Mr. Robertson proclaimed that he "wasn't an evangelist, he was a journalist." Hmm, guess he's just a paid reporter on "The 700 Club".

While Pat Robertson has shown his true allegiances in the past, it is alarming that so many other evangelists are also supporting pro-abortion candidates. I don't understand how Christians can say they believe the Bible is the Word of God, claim to be followers of Jesus Christ, yet support positions that are so diametrically opposed to the Bible and the teachings of the Savior.

Guess they don't realize that power and the almighty dollar are NOT more important than Almighty God.

We are not supposed to judge our fellow man, but we are commanded to "exhort" when we see a brother or sister erring.

I exhort you NOT to support evil practices. You must vote your conscious. Make certain you are fully aware of where candidates stand on issues that should be important to every Christian.

Just remember, no one sues for malpractice for moral errors, but God knows.

TruthLover

No Longer a Democrat!

I was raised in a family of Democrats. My mother, father, grandparents and ancestors all the way back were Democrats. When I was finally old enough to vote, I proudly voted for JFK and hated Nixon as a "creep". I would have voted for Bobby Kennedy for anything, if he hadn't been assassinated by Sirhan Sirhan.

But as I've gotten older, I've tried very hard to hold on to my ideals. The Democratic Party that I grew up so fiercely proud of has not done the same. I can't even begin to justify aligning myself with a group that staunchly defends and promotes positions that I know in my heart are wrong.

When the Democratic Party became the proponents for abortion, they lost my vote.

I don't like everything that I see happening in the Republican Party, and I know that there are crooks and opportunists on both sides, but I have to draw the line somewhere, and the murder of innocent unborn babies is where I draw the line.

ProChoice! BAH! What a misnomer! How did the choice to murder ever become a part of our laws? Oh, you say that fetuses are not real humans until they are born, so they have no rights!
But WHAT IF YOU ARE WRONG?!?

And, what about that horrific procedure defended by Democratic politicos - partial birth abortion? Since the baby/fetus is allowed to be partially-born before being killed, doesn't that baby/fetus have at least a 'partial' right to life? Or is it acceptable to drive a needle into his brain to kill him? And why would he need to be killed if he was never alive in the first place?

We are told in our scriptures that "the shedding of innocent blood" is an unforgiveable sin. I can't think of any blood more innocent than that of an unborn baby. Is that why so many secularists are fighting to ban scriptures? So we don't have these 'unpleasant' reminders?

How can anyone who claims to be a Christian support abortion? I don't understand it.

And I truly don't understand how anyone claiming to be a Christian evangelist and church leader can endorse any candidate, whether Democrat or Republican, who supports abortion.

I've been reading news stories about Christian leaders who are coming together in groups, or individually, to endorse candidates who are proven to support, and vote for, these ghastly procedures. WHY?

One says "There are more important issues then abortion" and another says "We'll get better healthcare". Try telling aborted fetuses how much better your healthcare and other benefits are.

This is what the world is coming to, but I don't have to be a party to it.

TruthLover
